WOW was it freeeeeeeeeeeezing and windy when we did these. I have never taken pictures where the wind was so bad that my eyes were constantly watering and by the end of the session I had some serious raccoon eyes going on!!!

Yall were such troopers :-) Cilla and I go waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy back. 7th grade I believe. Anyway she goes to MTSU where one day she is gonna graduate with an Art Ed degree and she will be awesome at it too! There is no one else in the world like Cilla. If you know her you will know what I mean :-) And, I am glad I got that in the pix!

How bout those boys too? Aren't they cuties? They just had to spit in the well thing. Boys will be boys.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth yesterday! I know it was a crazy busy day and you are probably completely overwhelmed with information but I hope everyone had a blast :-)

Boudoir!!! Get your sexy on Knoxville! January 15th and 16th

Woooooo hoooooo!!! Am I excited? Heck yes I am. My next boudoir event for January 15th and 16th is SOLD OUT. BUT, if I have more ladies interested in this, I can extend it through the day on the 16th. The photos will be back in time for Valentine's Day.
The Boudoir sessions cost $225 and include 1 hour of shooting in a nice hotel suite and come with a small soft cover book including all edited photos. Not to worry! I edit away stretch marks and those annoying dimples in our thighs and buttcheeks. Yeah, I got plenty of them ;-)

You will end up with somewhere in the ball park of 40-50 photos and if you like you can add the cd of the photos for $175. Custom nice leather albums are also available.

And can I just say that if you are nervous about doing this, DON'T BE! Both of the ladies who participated in my last event decided to sign model releases after seeing their photos because they made them feel sexy and confident. Of course, that is your personal decision to make and you do not have to release any of your images.

I recently had my very first boudoir event in November and I LOVVEEEEEDDDDDD it! So much so, that I am having another one January 15th and 16th and it is tentatively sold out! If you are interested in booking a spot, let me know and I may add another day :-)

Many people have asked, just what are boudoir sessions...... Well my take on boudoir is sexy but classy. Trust me, leaving a lil bit to the imagination is sooo much more sexy than throwing it all out there! Nudity is not required, but I am also not opposed to it. There ARE ways to be classy about it.

The resulting images from my last session were PG13 rated...well these days probably PG rated. HAHA. Also, you do not have to sign a model release which means that your images will not be shown to anyone or used in any type of advertising.

Another thing I must mention... these are NOT just for skinny or young women. Do not think that just because you aren't a certain size or age you can't be sexy. That is definately NOT TRUE. It is all about embracing your body and being sexy in your skin. (now... with that being said, I do remove blemishes, stretch marks, and smooth out the skin when needed.)

The first sessions were timed so that the photos would be ready just in time for Christmas. The session in January will be ready in time for Valentine's Day. What an awesome gift!!! Even if you don't have a special someone...getting dolled up and looking sexy just makes you feel better :-)

OMGosh is she gorgeous or what! Rita and I headed to downtown Maryville for an awesome shoot a couple of weeks ago. I am soooo excited to say that Rita is going to be my Senior Rep for Maryville High School where she is a cheerleader :-)

My sweet babies were really mean last night :-) I only wanted a short cat nap while they sat with me on the couch, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO they wouldn't have it. They were trying to bodyslam each other on the floor! They were sooooo rowdy all night and you can tell the rainy days are getting to them. They need to get out and play and run all the energy out of them.

Finally after bath time they settled down a bit. Brittney read a book to me and Jayden put on a puppet show. When I asked his puppet what he liked to do, he answered "Snuggle with my mommy"

Awwwwww I love my babies though they aren't really babies any more :-/

Usually I dont get very wordy or personal on the blog, but hey... just putting this out there. I believe that if you put your goals in writing, you visualize more and commit more and it will happen.

Most of you reading my blog know about my weight loss struggles and if you don't, you are about to! I was always the fat girl. Well... to put it nicely I was heavyset. Still sucks the same. From the time I was 4, or as early as I can remember, I was not just chubby but obese. But, I loooooooooved me some apple stack cake and I guess food became my friend. I didn't have a sad childhood or anything like that, so I don't know... I guess I just loved food a bit too much and it was in my genes which didn't help.

Throughout my school years I really struggled with my weight. I quickly became tagged with the nicknames Butterball, Mt. Mitchell (my maiden last name was Mitchell), and anything else you could think of. Yeah it hurt. Yeah I came home crying off the bus more times than I could count. But, inside that shy little girl was ME.

In 8th grade I had a tiny taste of what it was like to be a normal weight. Sadly it didn't last long. I had taken Phen Fen and lost 50 pounds in about 4 months and was staying active with karate and softball, but I quit the sports and the medication was too risky... I gained it back x 2. FAST.

I have always joked that I could look at a cupcake and gain 5 pounds and really some days it feels that way. Seeing people who can eat whatever they want when they want and never work out but yet stay thin makes me envious to say the least.

I hit my all time high with my weight battle while I was pregnant with my son. Tipping the scales (more like crushing the scales) at 330 pounds, I was humiliated. Ashamed, embarrassed, and any other word of the like... How could I let myself get to that? I said I would never go over 200... well I flew right past it and was well on my way to 400 pounds. I only gained about 30 pounds with my 2nd pregnancy so it wasn't like it was all baby!

After I had Jayden I only came back down to 313. Now... I take blame for this. I didn't ever eat right... horrible food choices....horrible portions and to top it off excercise was non existent. I was waiting for some quick fix to take me back down. I think my breaking point was when the plus size clothes no longer fit. Most plus size stores went up to a 26-28 and they were too tight. At 23 years old, I was not living my life. Not for myself. Not for my kids. I was extremely lucky to not have horrible side effects of being so big.

A few months after my son was born, I decided to attend a seminar on Weight Loss Surgery. After meeting with the surgeons and going to the seminar, I felt that the Lap Band was the right tool for me to help boost my weight loss. I was serious about losing weight but felt so desperate and that I needed something to help me. I needed help and the help came in the form of surgery.

Three years later, I have mixed feelings on the Lap Band. I had my surgery in Nov 2006 at Blount Memorial. I followed the rules to a t and stuck to my liquid diet, then mushies, then solids, and quickly started dropping the weight. It was falling off and I was LOVING it. Finally... a glimmer of hope. Now I have lost and gained weight a million times before and I knew that it would take excercise too. I also knew the probability of having bad hanging skin issues was pretty high and hoped that possibly excercise would help tone. So, I hit the gym. I became somewhat of a regular at the classes at Court South... marching my biggest butt in the room in there!

And....at a year out I was down 100 pounds. I have attached a picture of me with my surgeon! I can't describe the joy that I felt. While the Lap Band gave me a tool to reduce my portions, I still worked my ass off (literally) to lose some of my weight. The Lap Band never really worked as it was described for me though. Instead of making me feel full off of a small portion, I get stuck. Physically the food gets lodged in the opening of my stomach. I still deal with this on a daily basis. It sounds horrible, but I compare it to forced bulemia... not to make light of an eating disorder but seriously it is pretty frustrating.

Last year, my band got to a point where everything was stuck. The doctors thought that it may have slipped off of my stomach, so we did a complete unfill for a while...basically meaning I should have no restriction and would be able to eat like a normal person. And....that is exactly what I did.

I had gotten to a point where I was comfortable. I hadn't reached my goal of 150 yet but it was in sight. I was at 209 at my lowest and was feeling amazing. I guess life got in the way and me and the gym became past friends. It had been so long since I could eat normal and my body had gotten used to such a small amount of calories per day it was holding onto any fat I had... When I started eating normal again... the weight quickly came back.

Not all of it. As of a few weeks ago I had gained back around 35 pounds. I am so mad at myself for gaining some back. I started slipping back into my previous food choices and the band is still a frustration more than a help right now. I cannot physically eat some healthy foods when I want to. For instance, grilled chicken... Love it, but physically it will not "go down" all the time. Neither will alot of fruits, some veggies, beans, etc. What goes down easy.. junk. It is a constant battle to find something healthy to eat that will go down and not give up and reach for the easy food. At this point, the band is a detriment to my success but I cannot put all the blame on that. I do take full responsibility for my choices. I can't blame it on my divorce, moving out of my house, being a single mom and sole provider for the kids... those are struggles I have but so do many other people and truly I am blessed.

About a month ago, I decided that enough was enough. I am NOT gaining any more back. I am going to reach my goal. But first, mini goals. My brother has been acting as my Personal Trainer... he knows his stuff about that.. has the certification or whatever they get. I will say it is a challenge having your brother be your PT. I can't cheat without him knowing about it. LOL. This past week has been a struggle with the crazyiness of a photographer's October and such but I am determined.

See... my first mini goal is to wear those jeans my a$$ looked soooo good in last year. I am going to wear them on Christmas. That is my Christmas present to myself.

When I first began my weight loss journey, one of my non scale related goals was to ride a roller coaster. For years I had avoided them. I LOVE roller coasters. I am an adrenaline junkie for things like that. But, I couldn't imagine the humiliation that I would have felt if I had of waited in line and then been told in front of all those people that I was too big to ride. Last year I finally rode again. My sister and I were at Dollywood and I got up the nerve to wait in line and I fit!

So, the entire point of this post is I WANNA RIDE... I am going to plan a trip to Cedar Point and ride everything I can... and I am gonna wear my goal jeans too.

I am sure there are going to be ups and downs and I will probably fall of my wagon a million times but I will get back on.

Their wedding was on Father's Day and where else to get ready but Mom and Dad's house! I loved how her dad was just sitting there reading his paper and drinking coffee. He seemed so at ease! And... her mom's hat AWESOME.

I loved getting to meet everyone that day. This family was one of the most warm, genuine, and welcoming families I have ever had the joy of photographing.

After the intimate ceremony under a 100+ tree, everyone got a dancing lesson and enjoyed the live bluegrass band and barbeque!

Here are a few of their photos from the engagement session. Jackie and Shane are probably about the most laid back couple I have ever met :-) I loved their e-session as it just seemed so "them". They love the outdoors and nature and although they told me they didn't really think about what they were wearing, it went perfect with the scene!

We headed to Roaring Fork near Gatlinburg for their session. Our original plans of Cades Cove were not going to work because the crazyness of Cades Cove on a summer Sunday afternoon is just not a good fit for a session. So, to Gatlinburg we went and I am soooo glad.

Oh and btw, Jackie's sister just got married about a week ago and I had the pleasure of photographing her wedding as well! You can see her engagement photos under Christy and Bryan and their wedding photos will be on here in a few.

I am not much of a writer so I thought that I would let you hear from Emily, in her own words, about their wedding story.

"We met our freshmen year of college at the University of Cincinnati through friends. Started dating and the rest is history :)

It was Cinco de Mayo and Kevin found out he got into med school at West Virginia Univeristy. We decided to go over to my sister and brother-in-laws house to celebrate. Kevin made us all dinner and while eating he made a toast to "family" and went into his proposal. Anyone who knows Kevin knows he is never serious, so my sister and I both thought he was joking around.

Then he got down on a knee and I looked over at my crying sister and realized he was really asking me to marry him! Then lots of friends came over that night to celebrate around a campfire.We both went to college at UC and now moved to Morgantown, WV where he just started his second year of med school.

We chose TN for our wedding because we wanted a beautiful outdoor ceremony and we both love it there. His family has a vacation home on Norris Lake. It has been a big part of our relationship, always bringing together our family and friends. Every year of college, the first week of summer, we went with about 10 friends to boat and relax on the water. We wanted to continue the same tradition this year since most of our friends are now graduated and in different locations.

So our entire bridal party along with both of our parents (about 25 people) came down the week before the wedding and we held our "rehearsal" dinner at a marina on the lake. It was awesome for Kevin and I to have an entire week to be with all the people we love on such a special occasion for us. Everyone had a great time!!"

I lovvvveee taking pix of lil babies. Kylie is officially the youngest client :-) for me. Hehe. Her momma, Lindsie is one of my very favorite wedding clients. I did her and her husband's wedding photos last year and they are just too cute for words. Lindsie loves pictures and does a lot of scrapbooking, so if you ever need something scrapbooked, let me know and I will get you in touch with her.

Lindsie and I had talked a few times about doing a newborn session for baby Kylie. She wanted some pictures of Kylie taken in the hospital and then we are going to do more sessions as she gets bigger :-)

So, on the morning of 7-7, Lindsie called me bright and early. I think it was around 5ish or so. She sounded so calm for a lady who was about to go through some torture and whose water had just broken!

I headed to the hospital later that day to take pix of lil Kylie with her mom, dad, and big brother Carsen. Check out the hawk lil K is sportin!

I took my kiddos to UT Gardens in the Spring for some updated pictures. Goodness I hope I am not the only photographer mommy who takes all kinds of pix of their kids, but never prints them out... UGH I have to get better at that. If any of you know my lil girl Brittney you would know that she is the ultimate girly girl. She will pitch a fit to wear a fancy dress every day. Her teachers probably thought I was a snob or something since she just HAD to go to school in frilly dresses. She also loves the makeup. She is just like my sister with the shoe fetish as well. Jayden, my lil man, is full of spunk. He has taken a habit of not going to bed until very late and has a bit of a mean streak right now. Kali and Michael got hitched on April 24th at Twin Cedar Farms near Rockford TN.
( www.twincedarfarm.com/ ) Their wedding was gorgeous and the weather was perfect. I began the day meeting Kali at Twin Cedar Farms and followed her to Shimmer Hair Spa ( www.shimmerhairspa.com ) in Maryville where she met her girls. After they all got dolled up :-) we headed back to the Farm to get some pictures. Kali and her girls were such good sports. They hiked up and down the big hill a few times for the sake of some good pictures.

This first blog post is going to highlight a few of my faves of Kali and her girls getting ready and a few of the pictures taken of Kali before the ceremony.

Brides Day 2009

Thanks to all the Brides who came by yesterday at the Expo Center! It was nice to meet all of you and I hope you thought my couch was just as comfy as I do :-) hehe.

Bobbi and Micah: New Year's Eve

I don't think I have ever had quite an action packed New Year's Eve before. The day was long, but well worth it. Early in the morning, I headed up to Cobbly Nob and then made the drive up the mountain to Almost Heaven Resort where Bobbi and Micah tied the knot.

What an absolutely beautiful day for a wedding and a perfect location!

It was bitterly cold, but that didn't stop them from braving the cold for some awesome pictures outside. We just could not let a view like that go to waste.

Following the ceremony, we headed to Gatlinburg for the reception which was equally as wonderful. I have some amazing photos of Micah removing Bobbi's garter, but I am not quite sure that she wants those on here....so I am sure she will share if she wants. Let's just say....it was the best garter removal I have EVER seen! HOT HOT HOT

After the first celebration was finished, everyone took a few hours to chill. I made my way back down from Ober Gatlinburg to the strip and found a neat little internet cafe to hang out at and re-caffeniate for the real party!

What an awesome time. That night, everyone showed back up for the real party and the men hit it off when their rendention of Soldier Boy...in fact, as I type this, that is what I am listening to! Bobbi and her friends showed that they could definately dance to, including her mom who danced with Micah and had everyone saying..WHOA HOT MOMMA!!!!!

Bobbi and Micah, I had a blast at your wedding. The love you have for each other is so evident. The way you look at each other is amazing. Without saying anything to each other and the way your hands would find each one another's face while you were dancing... it was obvious that you two are very much in love.

I wish you all the best in life and hope you two share many more New Year's together!

Funnier than ANY dang commercial

Oh Dear God.....So, tonight I had just finished up giving Jayden a bath. As soon as he got out, he decided that he needed to potty...so okay... he did! He was still dripping wet so I towled him off a bit, wrapped him in the towel, and sent him to his room for me to get his jammies on him. I then started getting Brittney ready for her bath and when I thought I had that covered, I headed out to the living room for a second.

It was then I noticed the living room floor completely covered in sprinkles...the little tiny dot kind. Of course, I blamed Brittney at first because she was the one who said she was "making a cupcake" from the kit Santa brought....

Jayden joined in on the blaming and said it was sissy....so just when I was about to get a bit angry...I glanced at my still naked 3 year old and saw that his entire wee wee was completely sprinkle coated. Oh........my........dear.........God................ I don't think that I have laughed that hard before in a LONG time. I couldn't be mad! He didn't have sprinkles anywhere else...just there!

My next immediate thought after I caught my breath and stopped myself from peeing in the floor from laughter.... Long time....no blog :-( I have been a bit busy lately to say the least. December is always a crazy month and it takes me the entire month of January to play catch up it seems. I have a lot to blog...and a lot that I meant to blog over the past few months, but just never did (nothing photography related really...just some personal trips and such). Hopefully 2009 will be better in my lil bloggin world.

I have never been much of a writer. Never. Writer's block seems to find me often. I read so many photographer's blogs who seem they not only have a huge talent for art but also have a way with words. I will keep it simple and get to the point...I am not one of them. So there I said that up front. I would love to be but my words get lost and I end up slappin a few pictures up...or just not blogging at all.

I need to hire a professional blogger for me. Now THAT is an idea.

I guess the point of this blog is to let you know that I will be updating this as often as possible, but feel free to add me as a friend on Facebook as I seem to be on there updating at least daily it seems!

I love love love this session! When photographing a 2 yr old there are a few things you have to keep in mind, one of which is that they have a mind of their own and probably just want to play. Allison and Brett were absolutely wonderful! They knew that if they forced him to "pose" the pictures would probably suck. So they didn't. For an hour he just ran around and played and we managed to sneak in some posed traditional ones in between. So....I absolutely loved this session because it was REAL. No put ons, just real raw emotion with their family and little pieces of time, captured in a photo. ENJOY!

I can't believe that Halloween has already passed (and I haven't even started Christmas shopping yet!) This year Brittney originally decided to be a cheerleader but then changed her mind to the ever popular Hannah Montana. We didn't have to venture far from my daughter's everyday wardrobe to pull it off. LOL. Jayden picked out Spiderman and didn't even dream of changing his mind. Brittney led the pack of kiddos up to each door and I was so excited that Jayden actually said "trick or treat" and "thank you" at each house. He is really starting to talk a lot more now. Brittney wasn't really feeling well due to an ear infection, but she did perk up long enough to collect some candy. Here are some photos of the kids. I threw a few in here too of Jayden helping put down the laminate floors. I love love love my new floors.

Family Session in Pigeon Forge

Loren and I go waaaaayyyyyy back. You see, Loren was one of my brother's best friends from high school. Loren doesn't live in TN anymore so I had not seen him in many many years. I was very excited that he and his family wanted me to take their photos when they came back into town for vacation.

Loren and Joy along with their precious girls and Joy's parents came into Pigeon Forge a few weekends ago. We managed to fit a portrait session in before they went to Dollywood for the day. This session was taken right in the heart of Pigeon Forge and when I first got there in the morning it was like a ghost town, but within an hour the town was hoppin'.

Introducing Baby Drew

Little Andrew was just as adorable as I had imagined and anyone could tell that Mommy and Daddy were so very proud. Last Sunday I took Brittney and Jayden to the Ramsey House to do their pictures. I have been putting this off for a while. It seemed like each time I would set up for this, Jayden would get hurt. He is SO accident prone. So we finally got to go and my mom came along to help. They are not easy kids to photograph as Brittney likes to pose all the time, which is not really a good thing ALL the time and Jayden was hiding from the camera for most of the day. But, I think I managed to get a few good ones.

I recently met up with Jessica and her sister in law to do a session with their kiddos together. Jessica's husband, Wes, and I went to school together for as long as I can remember. He also used to be a regular at me and my hubby's first house and along the crusin scene in Gatlinburg. LO DOWN KREATIONS baby... LOL .... those were the days... Anyway, we are all grown up now, with kiddos and such and so I was super excited to do a session of his baby girl and her cousins, who were just as adorable!!!

The older ladies were just little hams for the camera and although it was hot as all get out.... the light was pretty which made it worth it. I could not convince Savannah that the light was worth the humidity though .... she was happy as soon as she got naked at the end.

A few weeks ago I met up with Cindy and her amazing family for her Big bday present to herself.... a photography session. We started the day with a family session. How beautiful is her daugher???? Gorgeous.

It was SOOOO hot outside but they were good troopers! So after the family session, we grabbed a bite to eat and headed to her parent's home in Straw Plains for her party. Her whole family was there. We grabbed a few photos with all of them and then did a few mini family sessions.

Check out Courtney's (Cindy's daughter) ring! The part photographed says "Wait" It is a promise ring to herself and to GOD. You are an inspriration and role model to girls for a cause that IS important.

About a week ago I headed up to Johnson City to take pictures of Jill and her hubby Clark. They are expecting their first baby very soon! Jill is the owner of Just Jill Photography and I have to admit that heading up there, I was a nervous wreck. See, this was my first time taking pictures of another photographer. Jill and Clark were absolutely wonderful and I quickly got over my anxiety. We started off the session at their beautiful home taking shots of the nursery and their beloved doggie. Jill has been craving lemonade.... Oh don't you love those pregnancy cravings????

After we finished inside, we headed over to an adorable park across from ETSU. I can't remember the name of it, but the view was stunning. You may have noticed that in one picture, the blocks spell Natalie and they spell Andrew in another. That is because Jill and Clark have decided to let that be a surprise. How sweet!!!! I've placed my bet too! Ha ha.

Jill you were wonderful. It was great meeting you and I hope I can return when Natalie (uh um) or Drew is born!

Brittney's 1st Day of School

A few weeks ago, my baby girl started Kindergarten. It doesn't seem like it should be time for that yet. She will be celebrating her 5th birthday on Friday! It seems like only yesterday she was being rocked to sleep by her daddy, learning to crawl, walk, talk. UGH! I don't want her to grow up.

Here are a few snapshots I took of her on her first day of school. Yes, I am a wonder MOM and she had a delicious chocolate pop tart! LOL. Whatever, gimme a break!

So, as I sit here typing this I am looking over at her, glued to Sponge Bob singing "I'm a goofy goofer yeah..." tears are welling up in my eyes.

Before I went on vacation, I headed down to UT Botanical Gardens for a session with Brooke and her beautiful daughter "Moo". (That is her nickname!) Aren't they lovely! These girls rocked it out. Talk about ONE HOT MOMMA!

Moo was a little sleepy (I think she was up til 4 texting) but you could not even tell. This session was a surprise for Brooke's hubby, a gift for their 5th anniversary and you know it was just what he wanted.

Next session, he will have to come along too!

Last month (YES, I am a little late on bloggin ; p ) Lyschel and her family all got together for a while. Since everyone was here in Knoxville, they decided to have some family photos done. What a beautiful and wonderful family. They were all so very nice. The photo session began with a prayer. How sweet. They wanted a photo that captured them, truly. They like to pray together and I have to admit that I am tearing up as I write this.

We did not have much time to work with on this session, because the rain snuck up on us. But, we got some great ones! The babies were getting a little OVER the pix anyway, as you can see from the screaming face!

Aren't they friggin fabulous!!!!!!!!!!! While on vacation a few weeks ago, I did a session for my brother, his amazing wife, and 2 beautiful kiddos on Myrtle Beach. Most of you know that my brother and his family live 10 hours away in Florida. So, for vacation this year, we all (me and my family, my mom and dad, my sister and her family, and my brother's crew) rented beach houses in Ocean Lakes Campground. We had a blast!!!! I am already ready to go back.

It was incredibly windy during the shoot, but what is the beach without wind anyway? I hope yall enjoy the pix. I love you bunches and miss you already.

LINDSIE AND BO 6.21.08

O MY GOODNESS. That is all I have to say about that!

okay I lied.... My point is that this wedding was just WOW. I followed Lindsie and her girls around all day and Lindsie loves pictures. A few months ago I did Lindise and Bo's e - session and I immediately knew that this girl cares about her pictures!

I highly recommend an e - session and they are INCLUDED in all of my packages as well!

We started out the day at High Styles Salon in Maryville on High St. They were so nice and accomodating to Lindsie. She and her girls took over the salon for the day and got ready there. If you have not checked out High Styles, I highly recommend it!

Once they were all dolled up, we headed down to downtown Maryville for a mini bridal session. They all rocked it out.

From there, we headed to the wedding at River Johns Island. What a neat place! Bo had worked hard for days setting up the decor and it showed. Bo, you did a wonderful job.

Following the ceremony and reception, I hopped in the getaway car with the newleyweds and headed to several locations in Maryville for a private shoot. WOW. I was stoked to say the least. Along the way, we came across a beautiful classic red car. OMG.

I am having trouble narrowing down my faves for the blog on this one, so here are some and you may just get another blog post too.

Meggie and Joe got hitched June 14th in Pigeon Forge, TN. June 14th happens to be a special day to me, because that is the day my husband and I celebrated as our 10 year anniversary of being together. (7 years married) ENOUGH about me though. This day was to celebrate Meggie and Joe who were/are high school sweethearts. They met in Chorus and Joe impressed Meggie by singing to her.

Awww how romantic is that??? They danced to that song on their wedding day.

Here are a few of my favorites from their day. I hope that you enjoy!

I started out the day by meeting the guys at the church many hours before the wedding began. You guys were such great sports.

After that, they had to eat of course. What else do guys eat on their wedding day?

After a while with the guys, I met Meggie and her girls at Blades Salon in Pigeon Forge. That place is awesome. Love it.

After the hair was did : ) we headed to The Color Bar for makeup.

Meanwhile, Joe was a bit nervous and ate about 3 boxes of mints.

The ceremony was beautiful and Mom started crying as soon as she sat down, which of course made me cry

The broken arm

Almost 2 weeks ago, I received frantic messages and texts at work. Normally my husband does not text "asap". The timing could have not been worse. I was right smack dab in the middle of a presentation for about 75 people. As soon I could, I called my husband and found out that our little boy, Jayden, was hurt. I got to his daycare as soon as I could and he was just lying there on the couch and could not pull himself up. He was dragging his left arm behind him and whimpering when I got him up.

I rushed him to Children's and the dr. assistant lady comes in after about 1/2 an hour of waiting which I guess is not bad. She thought he had hyper-extended his elbow, so she grabbed it and thought she popped it back into place. Sounds painful huh? It looked painful.

Jayden started screaming. He already would not let us touch it before this. She explained how common it is and that he should be okay in a few minutes.

10 minutes goes by.....not okay...... 20 minutes......not okay......30 minutes.... still not okay

Soooooo, they bring in a lady that brought toys and bubbles to get him to use his left arm. Still would not. She left the room and he lifted it once for me, but then screamed.

So off we went to the xray room. NOT a good experience. No mother wants to see their kids in pain and Jayden is my baby and is a Momma's boy.

In the xray room, I had to hold his injured arm in an obviously painful position. He cried crocodile tears the entire time..... so did I.

After what seemed like an eternity in the xray room, we returned to the holding room where my husband met me. (Thankfully my sister picked up our daughter. Thanks Lorie. )

It ended up that he had broken his elbow. They splinted it and put him in a dinosaur sling.

The following Monday, we took him to the Orthapedic Clinic. What a flippin madhouse! They had about 10 receptionists, 20 doctors, and a gazillion patients. Not fun at all..... with both kids in tow. Nope, no fun. They were really nice, just very very busy.

As soon as Jayden realized that we were in another dr office, he started crying like crazy. They ended up putting a blue cast on him and said he broke his arm right at the elbow, so his cast goes all the way from his hand up to close to his shoulder. They also could not do a waterproof cast on him.

Although it sucks to see the baby with a broken arm, I am so thankful that for the most part my kids are healthy. I am blessed and confident he will get better soon.

Last night I had to dig rocks out of it. Geez.... We also went camping Memorial Day weekend and he decided to cover it in dirt. You can't wash a cast!!!!!

He goes back to the Dr on Friday the 13th for his next checkup!

Brittney's Dance

Brittney's dance recital is coming up. She is growing up so fast and will be in Kindergarten soon. A few weeks ago, she got all dolled up for her class photos. They use another local photographer for that, but I could not resist in getting a few of her while we waited.

SURIA AND JAY IN FLORIDA!!!!!!

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of shooting Suria and Jay's wedding in Ocklawaha, FL. Their wedding was so beautiful and was held at Jay's aunt and uncle's lake house on Lake Weir. (Thank God for GPS or I would have been lost!) The forecast was calling for rain but it mostly held off. Suria you looked absolutely AMAZING and your momma was a blast! Jay and the guys rocked it in their khakis and bare feet! That would have to be the first ceremony that I have shot without my shoes on.

Thank you all so much for allowing me to peek inside your special day. It was a very touching ceremony, especially when Haydee and Jay also exchanged vows. I think everyone was crying, me included. Your reception was one of the most exciting that I have photographed to date. I will never ever forget that first dance ; ) IT ROCKED! (They totally surprised everyone with a mixture of just about every popular hip hop song and dance in the past 20 years. )

Yesterday morning I thought my kiddos were playing so good. The inner Mommy should have known that if the kids are being too quiet, they are up to something. Brittney decided to stamp Barbie stamps on her face and all up and down her arms and Jayden took my bright red lipstick and toothpaste and who knows what else and colored my bathroom cabinet! He also dumped those little sweetheart candies all in the sink. Don't you just love kids????

Kids are soooo much fun, they really are... Jayden , my 2 year old, loves to eat as I have said before. .... Tonight we grilled hotdogs and Jay is at that age where he will not sit in his high chair anymore, but he makes such a mess at the table, I just put his plate on the chest which is right as his level. This way, he can eat at his own pace which is usually fast!

Sooo he ate his "dog" as we call it and Brittney, his sister, was sitting like a nice little girl at the table with her plate. Suddenly she screams, "WHERE IS MY HOT DOOOOOGGGGGGG?" Both my husband and I knew immediately who the theif was. We both looked over and sure enough, Jay was standing there hiding her dog behind his back with his cute lil chipmunk cheeks. He had left the bun of course!

Big Boy Bed

I thought it would be a good thing when we moved my little boy into a big boy bed this week, but I feel that I am in mourning. My daughter is 4 and although we put her to bed in her own bed, she ends up with us sometime in the middle of the night. But, my little man, is doing so good in his own bed it sort of saddens me, that he does not want Mommy : ( Don't get me wrong, it is nice just putting him in there and not having to deal with a gazillion fights to get him in bed, but I expected him to at least cry for Mommy.... Am I insane???

JAYDEN'S 2ND BIRTHDAY

Jayden turned 2 yesterday. Mommy's little man is growin up. He is such a momma's boy. He defines momma's boy perfectly. He will probably hate me for saying that in 10 years but oh well, right now I am his best friend. Well, next to Spiderman and his lovey, I am! If you know Jayden, you will know what his lovey is.....Jayden is a quiet boy for the most part but he is picking up on Bradyn's growl quite well. His little cousin, Bradyn, likes to growl at people or yell. Whatever you want to call it, it is hilarious. If I get on to Brittney or Jay in front of him, he will yell as loud as he can "NOOOOOOOOO EEEEEEEEEEEEEMMMMMY" It cracks me up. We knew one of us would get the redheaded kid and my sister got Blessed! Ha ha, he got mom's temper..... Anyway, back to my point. Bradyn has succesfully tought Jayden how to growl and yell. Well, I am blaming it on him anyway ; P Other than the occasional growl, Jay is quiet and loves to love on Mommy. He also likes to eat ALOT. Boy, can that kid eat. Mommy and sissy made him some yummy cupcakes and cake to celebrate his day. I love you Jayden. Here are a few pictures from his party.

My Family Shoot

Right before Thanksgiving, I did a huge family shoot for my family. It was a bit crazy having 3 different small families there and doing shoots individually and also wanting to get some of me and my hubby too. As many of you may know, I recently lost nearly 100 pounds in the past year and I did not have any current pix of me. I will soon be getting rid of that rose picture for my about me page on my website : )

On this shoot, we thought that we had maybe waited a fews weeks too late for the good fall colors but boy were we wrong. They were vibrant and it was hard for a person like me who is drawn to black and white, to not want to change these. The color was just like something out of a painting. My little nephew has the reddest hair and it just matched perfectly with the leaves. How cute!!!

Dawson Family

December 1st I got to spend a while with the Dawson family. I work with Nikki at my lovely day job : ) and she was the winning bidder of a package that I donated to a United Way Auction. The day she chose for her session was perfect. It was not too cold, sunny and a few pretty fluffy clouds in the sky.

I met her at her house and farm in Clinton and wanted to get some photos of her and her new hubby first before we brought out baby Lanee. They had this wonderful barn in their backyard with amazing light coming through. Gorgeous!!!

Next, we rounded up the doggies and baby Lanee for some family photos outside. What a task getting the dogs and everyone on the same page but we worked it out. In one photo, one of the doggies got a bit stubborn and decided to turn its backside to me. Priceless. I cracked up just seeing that one.

Nikki's mom and grandma were also there for a 4 generation photo. We took this one inside and let me tell you, they are a bunch of pretty ladies!!!!

Ellen and Joey 11-24-07

On 11-24 I had the joy of capturing Ellen and Joey's special day. I agreed to fill in for their original photographer when he had an unfortunate scheduling conflict. I am glad I did because I had a great time. I got to work with the wonderful wedding planners at One Enchanted Evening who made sure the wedding went off without a hitch. Ellen and Joey got married at a church in Morristown that had amazing stained glass windows and they had the cutest little flower girl who was no stranger to the camera.

I nearly cried throughout the entire night at the wedding. They played a very emotional slideshow during right before the ceremony and I could feel my face getting hot as I choked back the tears. During the reception, I noticed that Ellen's mom was crying while looking at a poem written about the day. At first, I thought that it was simply because her little girl had just gotten married but this was only part of the reason. Ellen and Joey chose her parent's anniversary as their wedding date to honor her late father. I am sure he was smiling down on you!

Oh My Goodness!!!! I cant believe it has been so long since I blogged. I planned on taking Nov and Dec off this year and for the most part I did. Now I am back in full force so bring it on!!!! This past year has been AMAZING. I have learned so much and have so many things I want to accomplish in 2008. One of my goals is to blog more often. Hopefully at least weekly. I guess we will see huh? I could start by filling you in on what I have done in the past two months.

I did not take them completely off. I did a portrait session in early December. Nikki and her family where the wonderful recipients of a session that was auctioned off to benefit The United Way of Knoxville. I had blast with Nikki and her family... More to come on them.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving I stepped in for another photographer in town and had the honor of capturing Ellen and Joey's special day in Morristown. Ellen you were absolutely beautiful and so classy. While you guys have been enjoying your pix for a while, I still will put them on here in a few.

Well what else have I been up to? I turned 25 on Dec 5th, so I will need to update my profile too. I have had a wonderful time just taking precious time with my family and giving the computer a much needed break. Oh, and I got a puppy. What was I thinking???? Her name is Elli short for Cinderelli and she is a Plott Hound. She is growing like a weed and seemed to think that our Christmas tree was her personal playground and bathroom. She shares my shoe fetish as well, except she likes to eat them and I like to buy them : ) She is a little bit of an evil dog but I am hoping she will grow out of her evilness.

Trick or Treat

This was Jayden's first trick or treat and Brittney, Jayden, and Bradyn had a blast. Both mommies were tired by the end of the night. Jayden got tired of walking, so he had a semi permanent spot on my right hip all night. Brittney and Bradyn had the trick or treat thing down pat, racing up to each doorstep, saying the words, and thanks and then racing to the next. Jayden does not talk that well yet, so he would just go up, reach into the candy basket and say "Uhhh". For those of you that don't speak 1 yr old, that means I want it. He also thought that you ate as you go. Here are a few pix of the kiddies before we went.

Well, no one thought that it would be hot in Oct, but whew when Cat and Joel got married on Oct 6th in Seymour, it sure was. They worked hard putting their special touch on their wedding day to make it uniquely theirs and it was beautiful. Here's to you Catherine and Joel. It was a beautifully perfect day. The sun was shining, a breeze was blowing, and love was in the air! Claire and Jake were getting married at the Tellico Yacht Club, on the lake in Loudon, TN. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous, as was the bride and the party and dancing afterwards were amazing. Here are a few of my favorite captures from their special day. Well, they got married Saturday and it was absolutely beautiful! The ceremony was at Mother Love Church in Louisville, TN and the reception was at Fox Den in Farragut, TN. There were fresh flowers everywhere and Robbie made a gorgeous bride. The wedding got off to a little bit of a late start, but what wedding actually starts on time? They had a lot of family there to celebrate their big day and I will admit that I nearly teared up when Paul sang to her as she was walking down the aisle.

At the reception, everyone let loose and did exactly what you are supposed to.... CELEBRATE!!!! These two guys above danced all night and let me tell you, they could dance. Even all the aunts, moms, and dads got up to dance. It was a blast!!!
